Vita dei campi (B2)

Life in the Fields in easy Italian

Giovanni Verga

Read Life in the Fields (Vita dei campi) by Giovanni Verga in easier Italian: a free CEFR B2 graded reader to download as an EPUB. Eight stories of Sicilian shepherds, miners and peasants, among them Cavalleria rusticana, La Lupa, Rosso Malpelo and Jeli il pastore, plus Il come, il quando ed il perché, told with the blunt force of Italian verismo. Verga's voice and proverbs stay, with only the hardest syntax and old words eased and a glossary after each story; two short details in Jeli il pastore are left out. Lettura facile per chi studia l'italiano (L2), livello B2: le novelle di Verga in italiano semplificato, gratis in EPUB.
