Immensee (B2)

Theodor Storm

Read Immensee by Theodor Storm in easier German: a free CEFR B2 graded reader to download as an EPUB. An old man sits alone in his room at dusk and remembers Elisabeth, the girl he grew up with and hoped to marry, until he went away to study and she married his friend Erich, the owner of the estate at Immensee. A quiet, moving novella that stays close to Storm's own words and rhythm, with all ten chapters, the poems and folk songs, and a German glossary after each chapter; a few phrases about Elisabeth as a young girl are left out. Leichtere Lektüre für Deutschlernende (DaF), Niveau B2: Storms Immensee in einfacherem Deutsch, kostenlos als EPUB.
